The power of prayer and praise has one of its most powerful manifestations in the story related to today's verse. Paul knew Jesus well (see II Tim 1:12), knowing that He is an ever-present help in trouble (see Psalm 46: 1), in the chains of captivity together with Silas they were singing to the Lord. What happened soon after, was God's wonderful response to their pleas . Are you tied in chains by some addiction ?? Have you been waiting a long time for that door to open? Let us imitate Paul and Silas singing hymns... At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. Acts 16:26
